Second Baby Shopping

I gave birth to our second baby girl May 10th! Since she’s our second we have most of what we need for her already, clothes, crib, stroller etc and that is so helpful budget wise. However there were a few things we needed to pick up for her as well as a couple we wanted to buy for her to have her own (and so that Indie can keep her things). Here’s a peek at what we’ve picked up for baby number 2!

Ikea Crib Sheets

We had pink Ikea sheets for Indie when she was using the crib, but they are old and stained now and don’t match the new nursery. So we picked up some plain white Ikea crib sheets. We love these, they fit our crib mattress perfectly, are cheap and look nice.

Britax B-Safe 35 Elite Car Seat

Indie’s bucket seat has expired now as a friend gave it to us, so we needed to pick up a new one for her baby sister. Mitchell’s Nana and Grandpa actually bought this as a gift for the baby which is so helpful and totally appreciated. Our last bucket seat was a Britax and we loved it, plus we already have the attachments for our stroller to use with it.

Crystal Chandelier

Completely un-necessary and a bit more expensive than I wanted but definitely beautiful and totally completes the nursery. It’s a lovely very pale pink shade and so far I’m really happy with it.

Aden+Anais 3 Pack Muslin Swaddles in Metallic Gold

We have lots of these swaddles from when Indie was a baby and we used them for that and also for burp cloths. Mitchell wanted to buy baby her own, new pack of these swaddles so we picked these ones because the metallic gold goes well with the quilt we bought. These are so soft, beautiful and I definitely recommend them.

Ikea Mariam Curtains

I picked these out to add a bit of decoration to the nursery and they match the blue in the quilt perfectly, they’ll also help darken the room during the day.

Little Unicorn Marindale Backpack Diaper Bag in Olive

Of course we have a diaper bag for Indie, but it has been used SO much that it’s totally breaking down. The strap broke, the front pocket is ripping off and it is well used. I decided to go with a different bag this time, I really wanted one that could be used as a backpack and a shoulder bag and this is the one I chose.

Little Unicorn Quilt

This is my favourite item we’ve purchased by far! It’s the softest blanket I’ve ever touched, it’s absolutely beautiful and the perfect size for the bassinet baby will be in. They have so many different patterns and all of them are stunning.

Jellycat Small Bashful Unicorn

When Indie was born we had a small Jellycat bunny for her, so we wanted to get one for the new baby too. I found this Unicorn and thought it was perfect. The small size is great for tiny little hands, and they’re so soft.

My dad also purchased a glider for us, I can’t remember the exact one we got but we purchased it off of Wayfair and so far I’m really happy with it.

Photo Sessions with Blue Lemon Photography

Marie is the photographer we use for everything, and she is absolutely wonderful. If you’re in the Calgary area I 100% recommend her. For Christmas last year Mitchell purchased a maternity and newborn session for me as a gift. We also had some photos done at the hospital after Mabyn was born.

We also purchased another camera for our monitor as well as a noise machine (which really saved us with Indie when she was a baby, but we wanted one we could plug in and leave on rather than one that shuts off).

So! What did you buy for your second child? Anything? What’s your most favourite baby product you’ve ever purchased?
